Amber Cure is an Australian Company founded on solid eco-friendly principals sourcing all ingredients and materials within Australia. Time

Our apiculturists follow a natural process which translates to more time focused on maintaining a habitual environment for the bees rather than quick production.
It takes 8 bees to produce 1 teaspoon of honey and each bee has a life expectancy of around 5 to 7 weeks. Our hives contain approx. 6 million bees working tirelessly during spring season to produce delicious Manuka honey.

Effort

Our keepers process honey by hand. Extraordinary effort is taken to ensure honey is extracted delicately to minimise disruption to the Queen Bee and her Hive. Maintaining 150 Hives seasonally is a great feat in itself, to protect the natural life of Bees and to separate the wax from the honey is another major task.

Process

As mentioned, our Keepers are focused on the preservation of the Queen and her worker bees. Whilst some keepers are mass producing by replacing a younger Queen in the Hive to expedite fast honey production, our keepers are ensuring and encouraging longevity in the Hives to deliver quality benefits.

Testing

Every harvest batch is tested by a reputable and independent laboratory to maintain the integrity of our brand and ensure we are delivering quality to our customers.
Amber Cure only stock a range of optimum MGO levels from 500+ to the highest-rated MGO level of 1717+ (rare harvest).

Methylglyoxal (MGO) Levels

Methylglyoxal (Methyl-gly-oxal) or MGO is a major antibacterial component in Manuka honey. The higher the MGO rating the more active and pro-biotic the honey. Honey becomes notably effective once the MGO count is over 450, this is why we always use a MGO rating of 500+ and above in our range of products. Through proven research it has been discovered that active honey has provided beneficial health benefits used in many applications from immunity boosters to disinfection of flesh wounds.
